Working fast, putting each of these pieces together in an hour or two then mixing quickly down to two tracks. Keeps the flow going and the path from initial idea to finished piece as short as possible. Yeah, a mouse and bar lines and structure are nice too, but I never used to work that way and I'm not missing it. The Octatrack Arranger does at least let me put patterns in order and mute/unmute tracks, plus I can do that manually and interact with each track live, sometimes effectively, sometimes less so.
