about

This album uses a lot of the samples/DAT recordings I made when on holiday in China. It was recorded during 2000 and then I sent it to Carl Matthews who added some inspired overdubs. In some cases these totally transformed the track, making something I could kinda live with into something I liked a lot.
Some very early ideas for a cover included. There were more but I can't find them right now. The final cover was far better anyway, if you have the CD.

In this version I have made some small tweaks for comfort but the old scatchiness, level/pan madness and generally cavalier attitude to mixing remains. Listen to track 5 first if you like sequency stuff, track 4 if you fancy a smile.

I had to have been inspired by Banco De Gaia, I'd say.
